Research On Property And Compaction Technics With Silt Of Low Liquid Limit

In the plain area in our province, the sediment soil include mainly soil of low liquid limit, inferior clay containing sand and power sand soil is distributed abroadly. Because the content of silt granules is high, the granules size is quite uniform, the content of clay granules is terribly poor, the graded match is poor, the plasticity index is low, the intensity resisting shearing is low, capillary tubes are grown, the stabilization of water is poor, moisture and frozen susceptibility are bad, what's more the deposited soil came into being freshly with not concretion enough. Therefore,the problems,such as the great transformation of settlement on roadbed and difficult compaction of filling of roadbed,will be encountered if highway is constructed is the areas.For the construted the disease of turning over slurry occurs often ,road surface cracks and the maintenance costs is sky-high.Therefore, the reasonable compaction method, technology, and criterion of silt of low liquid limit are engineering problem which will been solved desiderately in highway construction in Yellow River plain.The soil of low liquid limit differs with general soil on contain of mineral, distribution of granule and compact mechanism. Because of the complexity of performance in physics, mechanics and engineering, the compaction degree is difficult to be required, if the compact method of roadbed is adopted according to the rules in the actual critetion. In order to explore compact mechanism of silt and define to the reasonable compact method, constructional technology and compact criterion, experimental research and theory analysis of the composing of silt granule, physical and mechanical performance, compaction property and compressibility are carried out in this thesis .As a result, it can make up the insufficiency of national criterion. The research takes on theoretical and practical meanings for cutting down the road disease, improving the quality of pavement and subgrade, increasing the life-use, reducing project cost.The experiments in lab and spots and the theory analysis are primary means in the thesis. The contents include: assaying of silt granule, test of specific gravity, test of limit containing moisture, test of the standard compaction, the compaction test by changing temping power and graded match, compressing test, concretion test, test in spots of the combinations with various compaction technics, the testings in spots of modulus of elasticity and CBR in areas with various compact degree, and so on.The analysis and computation of the experiments and the research of the mechanism show : for the subgrade of silt constructed based on the actual compaction technics and criterion, there exist about 10% ratio of air, however by improving compact power.
