Based on consulting a lot of documents, detailed results on the shear resistance of cold-formed steel stud composed wall in low-rise residential structure by tests and the simplified calculation of shear resistance are presented this paper.Based on the test results of shear resistance of Cold-formed steel stud composed wall, Chinese and Japanese code are introduced to deal with data and analyze them through comparing methods. Meanwhile, in order to provide reliable data for the shear resistance of simplified calculation of cold-formed steel composed wall, this paper adopts the equivalent security degree method to propose the design value and the partial safety factors value of shear strength for the composed wall. The test results of self-tapping screw connection received by our team are compared with the test results done abroad and in this paper the design value and partial safety factors" advised value of shear strength of the self-tapping screw are proposed and the correlative data for shear resistance's simplified calculation of cold-formed steel composed wall are provided.The transfer mechanism, deformation's principle and every destroy pattern for resist horizontal shear force of Cold-formed steel stud composed wall are analyzed in this paper. Referring to the method of the calculation for wood structure composed wall, the paper deduces the simplified method of calculation for cold-formed steel stud composed wall with two methods: the whole method and the simplified method. Via comparing the results calculated by formula with the test results, we conclude that the results calculated by formula are quite closer to that of test.The Cold-formed steel stud composed wall' sheathings are simplified as an axis tension staff could calculate the composed wall' deformation. Consulting the method of calculation for wood structure composed wall in Japan, the paper deduces the axis tension and compression staff's equivalent stiffness, and then calculates the deformation of Cold-formed steel stud composed wall under the horizontal force. The compare between the results calculated by formula and the test results implies that both of them are close to each other.Based on the method of equivalent axis tension staff, the paper uses SAP2000 program to calculate the test model that were made abroad. The results calculated by program are approximate with the test results, proving that the program could calculate the complex composed wall.
