A Research Of Leisure Space In City Park

With the improving of living standard,people have more spare time now. Therefore,more and better public space are needed. Nowadays,in China there is a pressing conflict between people's need for leisure and provided facilities,especially the quantity of the space and the quality of it. It is an important thing for landscape designer to make the leisure space fit the bill and high quality in limited parks. In this paper, the elements of the space were analyzed at the beginning, then the theories of environment vision and environment cognition were summarized including picture-ground principle, city-image theory, edge effect, interest-center effect and the diversity behaviors in different culture. At the same time, whole principles for leisure spaces design were pointed out, that were wholeness, order, multiplicity, locality and experience. In these principles, wholeness, order, locality and experience can help people make better space cognition, while space order and its information were likely to influent man's behavior. So, as a landscape designer, only all of the principles were considered, could the charming leisure space be made. At last, content for leisure spaces design consists of subject, space position, scale, interface, color and the space elements were interpreted. In this paper, three point were highlighted that was the relation between subjects and the behavior, composing of the space and how the elements collocation influent man's behavior. It was intended to give reference to the leisure space designer.
