This paper briefly introduces the development history and the present state of digital particle image velocimetry (DPIV), profoundly analyses and researches various DPIV algorithms, algorithms that based on Fast Fourier Transform wound be the development direction of DPIV. Using windowsXP as operating platform this paper implements software's development by creatively adopting the program method of the combination of MATLAB and VB6.0 in this way. The software holds friendly user interface like windows and it is easy to learn and use.The software includes three main parts: (1) Pre-processing that the operation removing noise out of the experimental images; (2) After this, either methods (Willert Algorithm and Scarano Algorithm) can be selected to do the processing operation also can display velocity vectors' picture; (3) Post-processing. Mainly includes correcting or deleting the error vectors and saving the calculation result etc.This paper introduces the software's operating procedure in detail from image inputting and pre-processing and correlation calculation to post-processing.
