In the research domain of vehicle operation engineering, the harm of vibration is a great problem to people all along. Many shock absorption measures are adopted to improve the riding comfort of vehicle. The vehicle suspension is an important part of anti-vibration system and its anti-vibration performance influences the smoothness, comfort and control stabilization directly. In order to make the suspension having better adaptation to different road condition, the nonlinear stiffness of suspension and nonlinear damp of absorber are usually designed, yet up to now there is not a kind of nonlinear criterion which can be a suited token of anti-vibration performance.Based on the chaos property of unstable and nonlinear dynamics system, the anti-vibration performance of vehicle suspension is described by using the chaos characteristics. The research on chaos evaluating for anti-vibration performance of vehicle suspension could be a theoretical and practical importance and provided with great foreground of engineering application.After analyzing the general inspecting and evaluating technology of vehicle suspension anti-vibration performance, the research items in this paper are listed as below:(1) The chaos base of evaluating technology of vehicle suspension anti-vibration performance and correlative application of chaos evaluation are discussed. The purpose and task of this paper that is the chaos evaluating for anti-vibration performance of vehicle suspension have been put forward after researching the development and application of chaos theory, and the status quo of chaos evaluating for general engineering system and anti-vibration device of engineering in detail.(2) The chaos theory is researched. The measures to confirm minimum embedding dimension and calculate chaos parameters are discussed. The MATLAB program is compiled in order to calculate the primary chaos characteristics parameters such as minimum embedding dimension M min, correlation dimension D 2, Kolmogorov entropy and maximum Lyapunov exponent and so on.
