Cell fusion technology is developed in the sixties of last century, it's the course of that by the cell being leaded and trained, and under the part from body condition, has different kinds of cells merging (amalgamate) to one or many core through the asexual way and with the artificial method. If different kinds of biological individual cells into a cell, this new cell will get the chromosome from two cells, and have new heredity or biological characteristic, and can be trained to new species, strain or new cell project products. The traditional cell fusion methods have biologic inducement and chemical inducement. With the cell fusion having huge potential application on biology, medical science, pharmacy, the scientists from many countries who work on various fields such as physics, electronics, biology, medical science, etc. dived into a large amount of manpower and materials to carry on special research, in the eighties of last century a new cell fusion technology that cell electrofusion , had been developed.Micro Electro Mechanical Systems(abbreviated as MEMS), is a system device which uses micro manufacturing technology combining the mechanical unit, sensor, executing organ and electronic element to a micro base plate. This new electro mechanical system points out an important direction for the development of traditional machinery science. Along with the progress of science and technology and the development of life science, MEMS technology will be applied to the biomedical field more and more .In this subject, closely following the cell electrofusion developing direction, and combining the technology of MEMS, we have proposed and designed the cell electrofusion chip which bases on MEMS microelectrode array, the chip has the following characteristics:1. The chip adopts the advanced micro processing technology, which has integrated thousands of microelectrodes on a chip.2. The chip has been divided into nine different function areas, in order to meet different cell's requisitions for electrode.3. Encapsulation of the chip adopts standard 40 foots chip encapsulation, convenient for the chip drawn and inserted directly in the process of experiment.At the same time, we design microelectrode array cell electrofusion chip's driver circuit according to the parameters.
