Networks Control System (NCS) is a new way for the application of monitoring and control of ship power force set in engine room, so the research and development of NCS are highly concerned in some academes and military schools. At present, our domestic technology is not advanced in this domain. At the same time, the new ship engine room NCS is the integration of monitor control and management are come forth. With the development of automatization information and intelligence, it is very necessary to develop the research of ship engine room based on PLC NCS.This paper analyzed RockWell's industry control network technology's elements and develop a three-hierarchy networks structure which consists of DeviceNet, ContrclNet, and EtherNetThis networks structure system will apply in ship engine room monitoring and control. During of design and research, A-B (Allen-Bradley) company's ControlLogix system as the platform controller were choused. According to the monitoring function and design guideline of real ship engine room and A-B ControlLogix hardware system compatible regulation, the platform's design of ship engine room monitoring and control system based on network environment was accomplished. At last the main diesel engine monitoring function simulators are available by the monitoring and control platform.After accomplishing platform, it not only may provide the environment for research and development of engine room automatization, but have the characteristic of intelligence modularization and standardization for the apply of engine room monitoring and control.
