The RLG north-finder is a kind of apparatus to finding orientation, and precision is a very important target scales its capability. Thus, In this paper, the error factors that influence the precision of the Ring Laser Gyroscope north-finder are thoroughly analyzed and simulated to educe the way and condition to get high precision.Firstly, theories and calculating methods of North-Finding System are analyzed detailedly. Taking the quality of the RLG into account only, the precision-formulas of continuous rotation method and multi-position method are theoretically deduced and compared, consequently educed that the two-position method near east-west direction is the superior calculating method. Based on this, the error factors such as bias, drift, geomagnetism-infection, scale-factor error, RLG installation-angle, platform slope-angle, sampling-error, are analyzed and modeled, Matlab GUI is also developed. The effects of these error factors on north-finding output are simulated and detailedly analyzed using the software of Matlab/Simulink, and rational range of the error factors are g iven based on the o utputs. Lastly, the north-finding precision with Four-position method and two-position method near east direction are simulated, the outputs proves that north-finding near east-west direction with Two-position method gets the highest precision.
