With the structure and operation mode of power system becoming more and more complex, the modern dispatch automation system is requested to master the actual condition of power system quickly and exactly, forecast and analyze the trend of system and provide the next decision. So the power dispatch center builds up the energy management system (EMS) generally. The state estimation of the power system is core of EMS, it provides the accurate and complete information of power system and it increases the accuracy of the data. Therefore the research of power system state estimation is meaningful. This paper analyzes the algorithm of the state estimation, detection and identification of bad data. Combining with the realistic situations of SHANXI power network, we calculate the state estimation of 500KV network, by the method of fast decoupled which is fit for SHANXI power network, by adopting the method of the second estimation. Analyzing the result of the calculation result and the problems occurring during the practical operation.
