In this paper, a true three-dimensional finite element model has been developed to analyze the strain-stress and the deformation performances of soil nailing and the reasonable distribution of soil-nail stress are drawn. Based on these, using genetic algorithms plus complex method, optimal design of soil nailed structure is researched considering horizontal soil displacement. The mathematical model of structural optimal design is established and the calculation program is compiled. By analyzing an example, the reasonable results of soil nailed structure optimal design are drawn.
