Nowadays, AC-DC rectifiers have been wildly used in various industrial applicationsas essential modules. A large part of these facilities are composed of diodes orthyristors, which bring severe harmonics pollution to the power grid. The requirementof bidirectional power flow, low harmonics extent, and controllable power factor havedrawn much attention on the force commutated PWM rectifier.This thesis focuses on the analysis and design of three phase voltage source PWMrectifier. Particularly, the steady state analysis and parameter design methods areconsidered.Based on the mathematic model, first a simulation model has been constructed inSimulink. Then the characteristics of rectifier system are analyzed in steady state anddynamic state. Several rules concerning the inductor and capacitor design areproposed, a method to calculate proper PI parameter is illustrated, and someconsiderations in DSP control program are discussed.Finally, experimental results on a 15kW prototype confirm the validity of all theanalyses.
