The problem of the stability of the consequent rock slope is met in the construction of the railway from Chongqing to Huaihua.The past engineering practice shows that the consequent rock slope is most likely to failure in the rock slopes, and it causes enormous loss of the engineering project and the life and belongs of the people. Based on the study of the DK375 consequent rock slope of the railway from Chongqing to Huaihua, a new engineering measure for the reinforcement of the consequent rock slope, the light supporting method, is presented in this thesis. The light supporting method includes grouting and supporting by rockbolts. The slope stability of the DK375 rock slope without supporting and with supporting is also analysed. Finally, the results of the field test proved that the light suppoting method can be used in the reinforcement of the consequent rock slope.(1) The design and computing method and construction method of the grouting and suppoting with rockbolts are discussed. And the computing procedure and the practical construction method for the DK375 rock slope are presented.(2) The stability of consequent rock slopes mostly depend on the shear strength of the strctrual plane of the rockmass. The shear strength parameters of the soft structural plane in the consequent rock slope can be obtained relatively accurately by the direct shear test.(3) The results of the field test of the DK375 consequent rock slope show that grouting can enhance the shear strength of the structural plane, the rockbolts are easily use in field and can control the deformation of the consequent slope evidently. So, the design philosophy of applying the light support method instead of the heavy support structure such as anti-sliding piles and prestressed cable anti-sliding piles with large section in reinforcing the consequent bedding rock slope is feasible.
