Study Of Annoyance Of Low Frequency In Urban Residential Area

With the economic developing and the rapid process of urbanization in China, the social activity noise has become main noise, instead of traffic noise and industrial noise. On the other hand, all sorts of equipments in residential areas have taken the place of people's activities to become the most important social activities noise source. Much of facility noise is low frequency noise. In order to find out the annoyance of low frequency noise, the subjective physiology feeling influence and action disturbance , the characteristic of low frequency noise was analyzed in this paper and the method of the public questionnaire was adopted to study the annoyance of low frequency noise.In the paper the noise source was measured in urban residential area such as underground garage, transformer room, water pump room and air conditioning system etc. By the frequency spectrum analysis the low frequency noise sources were found. According to analysis finally the survey's place was chosen. Distributing of urban noise and the annoyance of low frequency noise was surveyed.The results show that the annoyance of low frequency noise residential area should be taken into account. Low-level noise can cause higher probability of subjective annoyance. It's very slightly to people's health, sleeping and working about the low frequency noise. It was compared with the high frequency noise caused by traffic about sleep, work and rest. This is the basis of the research of low frequency noise annoyance and its evaluation criterion completely in urban community in the future.
