Due to aggressive environment and improper management, the structure performance and durability of the industrial building will degrade, and the service life will reduce, which affect the structural safety severely. Based on the inspection datas of a service building and fuzzy maths, theoretical analyses as well as inspection of building structure have been carried out to research on the relation between degradation characteristics of durability and different attacks of environment. The residual lifetime of the industrial building was predicted.Firstly , inspection of truss columns is carried out in a heavy industry building which has been used for 48 years. According to the building service situation, the environmental conditions are classified into five classes and under the five conditions, concrete cover, carbonation depth, concrete strength and corrosion rate of reinforcement are inspected and relative humidity, temperature and acid gas concentration are monitored. The damage rule is analysed. Then, on the basis of inspection datas of truss columns, fuzzy pattern recognition theory has been applied to the analysis with the aim of obtaining the effect coefficient of local environment for accurately evaluting the durability of reinforced concrete structures. Finally, the residual lifetime of industrial building is predicted under five kinds of environment..
