| At present, water resources are polluted in most cities in our country, and it makes the conventional water treatment process more and more difficult to produce satisfactory drinking water. It is the main object of this research to treat micro-polluted water. Researches showed that adding PAC (Powered Activated Carbon) is one of the most effective methods to remove organic matter and color. This technology has the advantages such as low investment, low cost, flexible adding point, and so on.This paper mainly contains six parts: (1) selecting the optimum PAC type;(2) the optimum place of adding PAC;(3) the optimum dose of PAC;(4) using PAC to remove the odor;(5) the research of application of potassium permanganate in combination with PAC;(6) comparing on economic and technology.The results show that: (1) Adding PAC technology not only significantly improved the drinking water quality, efficiently removed micro-pollutants from water but also has an obvious removal effect with regards to other water parameters. (2) Adding PAC technology has a firm relationship with the point where PAC is added. The optimum place of adding PAC is at the point when the coagulant has been added about 30s. (3) The experimental results showed that odor can be controlled effectively with adding PAC technology on the base of conventional treatment processes. (4) PAC together with potassium permanganate can remove the organic matter more effectively than each of them alone.Adding PAC technology is proved to be an economical, convenient and efficient technology for removal of pollutants. Furthermore its implementation is not likely to be restricted by some factors such as temperature, so it has a promising prospect of application. |
