At present, a lot of long distance interbasin water transfers have already been built in the world, and its dispatch and control methods are very important. On the basis of summarizing existing achievement, in this paper dispatch and control methods for long distance open-channel hydraulic systems are studied comparatively deeply.1. This paper have described and input the concept of dispatch and control methods for long distance open-channel hydraulic systems briefly, and introduced four kinds of typical models. Through comparing open channel steady flow above the difference of water lines, some domestic relevant experts summarize the advantages and disadvantages of these four kinds of typical models. Before channel design has been finished, this paper combines the center-line project of South water to North, and utilizes characteristic lines to calculate different dispatch and control methods' course of their transient flow. Then, through comparing with fluctuating course of water level to gate, flow changing course and stabilized size of time, this paper has further proved the advantages and disadvantages of four kinds of typical models.2. This paper puts forward the concept of the control space, and proposes it only on the basis of one's own control space, goes on with comparing of different dispatch and control methods relatively more meaningful. This paper combines the center-line project of South water to North, goes on calculating of different dispatch and control methods' course of their transient flow, through comparing it is founded that among the typical models ,the control space of constant level control method which before the sluice is the biggest, then the control space of constant volume control method is the second, and the control space of constant level control method which after the sluice is the smallest.3. This paper goes on , and considers transient flow to analyse dispatch and control methods for long distance open-channel hydraulic systems as well. First of all, transient flow's influence on water supply has been studied;Secondly , the concept of surplus water quantity has been explained; Moreover, the parameters which describes agility of water transfers have been proposed; Finally , transient flow impacts on steady time of flowing have been studied , if open-channel hydraulic systems carry on constant level control method which before the sluice, it needs longer time to form the new steady state.
