Inspired by bearingless motor and the novel construction research on active magnetic bearing (AMB), this thesis does some research on the inverter-fed three-pole active magnetic bearing. This thesis focuses mainly on the theory and realization of inverter-fed three-pole active magnetic bearing.Firstly, from 1-DOF magnetic levitation force model of the eight-pole AMB, we deduce the three-pole AMB's analytical expression of the magnetic levitation force based on equivalent magnetic circuit. And the model's computation accuracy is verified by Maxwell2D, an electromagnetic field analysis software of electrical machines.Secondly, according to permanent magnet-type bearingless motor's suspension control system, we design the inverter-fed three-pole AMB control system. Compared two current control techniques for three-phase voltage-source PWM converters, we choose the hysteresis current controller as the current control technique. And then we build the inverter-fed three-pole AMB control system in SIMPLORER, the performance of the control system is verified by the simulation.Thirdly, according to the requirement of the experiment, we finished the mechanism platform of the experiment. Based on the design principle of AMB, the three-pole AMB is designed and analysed in the Maxwell2D.At last, contrast to DSP based AMB control system, we introduced the rapid control prototyping AMB control system based on dSPACE1103. And we select type and parameter of the control system's main component.
