Steam coal is in short supply in marketing at present. The coal fired inpower plants face a variety of coal types. It is different with coal designed, whichmakes boiler efficient and unit economic barometer decreasing. Thereforeeconomic techniques suitable for variety of coal type are needed.First power coal blending developing history at home and abroad werereviewed. Current methods of coal blending were introduced, especial weightedaveraging method with its calculating basement, condition and mathematicmodel.Based on volatile and heating of coal chemical parameters can be plus linearand weighted averaging method of steam coal blending, and feasibility ofblending Yuxian coal with ignition property, foul and slag, and mill system hasbeen analysed in #3 boiler of Xiahuayuan Plant. Suggestion of blending coalshas been given which maintains safe and economical performance of powerplant.
