The new age comes to the research on the application of network model to simulate fire in high-rise building in China when the application software of prediction on properties of smoke flow in building is developed successfully on the basis of the laudable work of Pro. Yan Zhi-jun, associate Prof. Wang Hou-hua, Luo Jia-ling, Luo Qing et al. The following aspects are involved in this dissertation:1) Properties of convergence of the network model Under the circumstance of few rooms, the prediction of the early production tally with the growth of the fire in building on the whole while the prediction becomes most fallacious when the rooms increase to a certain number, for instance, 9. The solution of the net mass flux, positive mass flux and negative mass flux is improved and then mass conservation is strictly maintained so that the prediction of the software become more credible and reliable.Combining technology of sparse matrix, three solutions of linear system are compared in MATLAB6.5. The precisions of these three solutions are made little difference. When the instruction of division is applied associate with technology of sparse matrix, the efficiency of the software is the best.2) Simulation of the heat transfer across the walls: There are two methods, finite thickness solid method and semi-infinite solid method, to simulate the heat transfer across the walls when the temperature gradient along the height and the width of the wall is ignored. The equations of the two methods are given and the software predictions with them are compared with data of Japan one another. Both of them agree well with the data of Japan. Predictions with both of the methods provide valuable information.3) The software becomes more convenient to use for the following modification:That the software didn't display the source and the name of the loaded data file and nor did it display the time elapsed and the time needed which are modified in this dissertation.
