Based on the knowledge of a variety of newly developed particle methods,thedisadvantages of the Lagrangian Particle Method (LPM) including its narrow appliedrange and its theoretical deficiency during the simulation process of the traffic flowmethod are summarized. According to the problems LPM has, deep studies have beenmade through the model building of the accidental events in society system and thetransportation system in hydraulic engineering. Some conclusions are acquired,theyare:1) This paper presents that the complicated society network system should bediscretized to the associated sub-systems or individual members. The individualmembers are compared as the Lagrangian particles from a microcosmicperspective, thus the mutual affection to each member resulted by the accidentalevents and the behavior of individual particles is mastered.2) Based on the society system members influenced by the accidental events, thestate of each individual is traced, the relationship and the diffusion effect betweenindividuals are analyzed, and the model of LPM used in the accidental events isalso built. An approach is finally developed to realize the complicated system byparallel distribution system.3) The general simulation arithmetic of the complicated system is discussed in greatdetail after a brief introduction of the applied ranges of kinds of particle methods.from the standpoint of complex system modeling, this paper brings forward a newmodelling technique that can integrate many kinds of system models and enablemutual visit between microcosm and macrography, simultaneously, the four-classconceptual system frame of social simulation system is proposed.4) By analyzing the relationship between any two of the three ingredients includingdrivers, vehicles and environment, we describe the attributes and relation amongentities and expound the logic behavior traits of running vehicles when they areon crossings or roads. The concept of the vehicle-head time difference, which canbe regarded as a secondary gist whether vehicle-particles can change lanes orovertake, is presented.5) This paper proposes multi-system PM model of hydraulic transportation system,simulates the dynamic state of vehicle-particles moving on roads and realizes thesimulation analysis of the running particle system model. A new concept ofdegree space occupancy (DOC), which considers vehicles of different length, isapplied to the traffic congestion and a thorough comparison and analysis is madeaccording to vehicle density ( ρ ).In a word, this thesis not only expands the developing space and the studymethods of complex system modeling in system science by introducing LagrangianParticle Method into society system, but also helps the hydraulic project managers tomaster the running state and dynamic attributes of vehicles in the transportationsystem at the microscopic level.
