Hydro-turbine regulating system plays important roles in the operation stability of hydropower generating unit. It has following characteristics: high order, time-changing, non-minimum phase, complex nonlinear system, the parameters varies with the running point. Therefore, Fuzzy PID control is considered as one of the most prospective methods to resolve control problems of hydro-turbine regulating system.Presently, one of the key issues in the fuzzy PID control on hydro-turbine regulating system is the acquisition and optimization of fuzzy rules, which is also the emphasis of this paper. The main contents are as following:1. Based on nonlinear hydro-turbine mode of the model-synthetical characteristic curve, a simulation model of hydro-turbine regulating system is build up, which contributes practicability to the conclusion.2. The cooperative evolutionary fuzzy genetic algorithm, which ameliorates traditional genetic one, is applied to optimize both the fuzzy rules of fuzzy PID control and the proportion factor for the equation of PID parameter drawing-up towards the different operation conditions of the regulating system of hydro turbine.3. The slippy factor is introduced to the destination functions, which not only confines the leap of adjacent rules but also contributes to the better surface from the fuzzy rules.4. A set of effective fuzzy rules and proportion factors are acquired to match general operation by simulations on different conditions, which contributes to the adaptation of the regulating system to the variation of hydro turbine running-conditions, which has better dynamic character than normal PID control method.Based on the research of senior, pointed to present problems and combined with the development of control theory, a method of searching for general fuzzy rules for regulatingsystem of hydro turbine is presented in this paper, which has shown its effectivity through simulations.
