Mixed-model assembling is an effective means to improve the flexibility of production system and even the competitiveness of the whole enterprise. The planning and operation control of mixed-model assembly line system is a complicated process with great influence on resource configuring, the productivity of enterprise and even the profit. The main purpose of the thesis is to find better modeling method and simulation mechanism of assembly line system, and how to set up simulation framework and how to realize. Firstly, the thesis analyzes in detail on the characteristic and composition of assembly line system and the simulation of discrete event system. This system can forecast the static and dynamic states of the assembly line in the phase of the designing and find the problems of the layout, the configuring and the controlling strategies in the system through the computer simulation, which provides a useful tool for the improvement of the system. Secondly, after analyzing the requirements of automobile assembly line planning and simulation, simulation theory framework of assembly line system is presented based on all kinds of models and algorithms, and integrated with layout design, logistics simulation, ergonomics simulation and dynamic simulation of machine. The detailed steps about how to build simulation system of assembly line are expanded. Thirdly, it is especially analyzed how to build object-class in simulation system, to carry on unified object-oriented modeling for the automobile mixed model assembly line in terms of structure, function, information and control, etc. And simulation mechanism of mixed –model assembly line is proposed based on discrete event simulation mechanism and object-oriented message transmission mechanism. And thus the dynamic simulation of the system develops. Lastly, on the base of above analysis and study, Landwind mixed model assembly simulation system, which realizes the dynamic simulation and sequence optimization, is implemented based on the QUEST platform integrated with MATLAB. The actual application indicates that the method, which to build 3D virtual simulation system of assembly line including object-oriented strategy, all models and algorithms, is better than the traditional simulation method. It proves that the research has theoretic and practical significance.
