The Study Of Pulsed Corona Discharge In Water

When the energy deposited in capacitors releases in water through theelectrodes, it brings shock waves, intensely light and heat. This phenomenon is called"electro-liquid effect". "Electro-liquid effect" is a new subject developed from 1950's.The essence of "electro-liquid effect" is the fast conversion of electricity to heat, light,pressure and acoustics. "Electro-liquid effect" has a nice applying future, such assparker epicenter, extracorporeal lithotripsy, Water Treatment etc.At front now, almost all literatures are related with spark discharge. Coronadischarge is just used in water treatment. But the liquid is sewage or mixture of gasand liquid. There are few literatures about clean water.A system is established to study corona discharge in water. This paper analyzesplasma characteristics of pulsed corona discharge in water and moving process of thebubbles, discusses the effect of conductivity to bubbles. We use the Rayleigh model tosimulate the process of bubbles. A non-linear resistance model is brought forward.Condition of spark discharge converting to corona discharge is found. Then the authorcalculates the electrical and acoustic efficiency, makes comparison with sparkdischarge. The author makes an elementary discussion on the mechanism of coronadischarge.
