MPS medium-speed coal pulverizer has many advantages, such as thequick start-up, the compact structure, the agile control, the few metalabrasions, the little electric power wastage, the small blast fatalness, the lownoise and so on. According to these advantages, the MPS coal pulverizerhas been used widely in the electrical industry, the metallurgical industry, thechemical industry etc. Recently, the MPS coal pulverizer is used more andmore and has a higher and higher status in these industries. Because of theimportance of the MPS coal pulverizer, it is necessary to research its holisticcapability and operational behavior.Presently, there are only a few researches on the MPS medium-speedcoal pulverizer's holistic capability and operational behavior in our country.And usually, the MPS coal pulverizer's holistic capability and operationalbehavior are researched by doing coal powder sampling. Theseexperimental researches have high cost, heavy tasks and long periods. Butfor the traditional physical and mathematical simulation, it is difficult to makeresearch on the MPS coal pulverizer. The traditional physical andmathematical simulation can hardly describe the MPS coal pulverizersystem because the MPS coal pulverizer is such a complex system which isrelated to hydrokinetics, micromeritics, thermodynamics, mechanics,electrics etc. So it is very necessary to find the appropriate theory andapproach to simulate the MPS coal pulverizer system.Functional simulation, a new simulation method, is propitious to beused for researching the MPS coal pulverizer system and can simulate therunning principle and process of the MPS coal pulverizer well. In the sametime, the functional simulation which is aimed at design verification is notmature enough and waiting for a perfect phase. So we can verify the theoryand approach of functional simulation by using them to research a complexsystem just like the MPS coal pulverizer system. And also, we can verify thecorrectness and effectiveness of the functional simulation by modeling andsimulating a real system.In this thesis the main task is using the functional simulation method toresearch the MPS medium-speed coal pulverizer system. Firstly, on thebasis of understanding the structure, the working process and the runningprinciple of the MPS coal pulverizer detailedly, we analyze the system, thefunctions and the restrictions and set up the functional modeling of the MPScoal pulverizer. Secondly, we deduce the knowledge provided by thefunctional modeling of the MPS coal pulverizer and simulate the MPS coalpulverizer's operational behavior. Then, according to the results of thesimulation, we analyze the main performances of the MPS coal pulverizer.At last, we compare the results of the functional simulation with the data andanalyses of experiments so as to verify the correctness and effectiveness ofthe functional simulation. In this paper, the functional simulation theory andapproach simulate the running principle and process of the MPS coalpulverizer well.The learned and applied significance of this thesis consists in someaspects. They are as follows: For one thing, we construct a new abstractmodel of the MPS coal pulverizer in this paper. It opens up a new way forsimulating, analyzing and designing the coal pulverizer. For another thing,the functional modeling and functional simulation are introduced into thecoal pulverizer field. And we discuss the feasibility of using the functionalsimulation method to research the MPS coal pulverizer. Still another, thispaper has some reference significance and guidance significance for usingthe functional simulation method and is helpful for the further developmentof the functional simulation method. And also, this paper is helpful forconstructing digital machine in computer.
