The Research Of Passenger Train's Color Design

The passenger train's color is directly related to train's attraction and passenger comfort. Good color design can not only enjoy the people, but also reduce the weary feeling when people make a long journey, even may take the passenger transportation company's symbol. At present, many reasons, such as the geography environment, the national culture, the esthetic tradition and some historical reasons cause the difference of the color design. Some developed countries of passenger transportation may provide reference to our designer. The color and esthetics theory provide theoretical basis for the analysis of the passenger train color design. The rational color arrangement theory which based on people's esthetic cognition can provide for the designer harmonious color matches, and be easily approved for the consumers. To understand the psychological emotion, the same feelings, the association, and the symbolistic of the color is helpful to the designer use the color accurately. From color esthetics and human machine engineering, passenger train color design must pay attention to following points: (1) Color arrangement should be unique and display region characteristic. Color choosing should be corresponding with nature and humanistic environment, or display the regional culture characteristic. (2) Color design should conform to the esthetics principle. (3) The outward color and the graph should prominent the passenger train's characteristic. (4) When design the train color, the crown, the windows, the gates and the sidewall are all should be think about. (5) The key of designing the interior color is to use the visual effect of color and Illumination, make the small space feel larger and less Constrain. (6) Color design should consider the techniques' rationality. (7) Color design should think about the visual barrier people's needs. In this article, the applied research is about the passenger train which will run on the Qinghai-Tibet railway, an analysis and color design scheme were put forward.
