A new technology of Automotive Industry, Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), which having characteristics of low pollution and low fuel consumption, just becomes an international and national focus. Drive Motor being a main department of HEV, plays an important part in HEV development. So research and analysis on Drive Motor have a great significance. Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) is high work efficiency, high power density and is easy to speed regulation. So it becomes the first choice for HEV drive motor. This thesis mainly based on Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), which used on Dual Mode Hybrid Vehicle. The main tasks covered as fellow:1. This part compares different kinds of motors' performance, gives the reasons for why to choose PMSM as drive motor on HEV.2. This part setts up PMSM math models, analyze and compare three kinds of current vector control methods, base on which arithmetic of the maximum power flux weaking are present. Current control strategies of PMSM are given: maximum torque/current control during low speed, maximum power flux weaking control during high speed.3. Presents simulation and analysis of PMSM performance under different working states of HEV by Matlab/Simulink.4. This part mainly combines the dual mode hybrid frame of one engine plus two PMSM, analyzes the PMSM performance when the bus working under different modes and the energy distribution ways. Simulates by ADVISOR, which is a special automotive simulating software.5. Motor system working tests under all modes of vehicle are done, give out the relating tests results and analysis. The key parts of this paper are research of PMSM current control strategy in part two and tests results analysis of PMSM used onto dual mode hybrid vehicle in part four and five.
