Protection And Use Of Great Ruins

The Han Chang'An relic is the national conservative heritage unit and still under the archeological research. However, because of the massive size and long history of the great relic, it is difficult to operate the planning of conservation and development substantively and practically. As the main body of the great historical relic—spaces still suffer from damages and demolishment, the characteristics of the great relic are disappearing gradually. Meanwhile, because of the inevitable metropolitan development, the uncoordinated developments between the interior and exterior situations of the great relic impact the conservation planning progressively following the speeding of city constructions and innovations outside, so it has became urgent to balance the contradiction between conservation and development of the great relic. As a deep-level material content of the city form, spaces are paramount aspect to show the essence of the relic. So, through the study on spaces, it is possible to improve the conservation of the great relic from a new viewpoint, and to deliver the original historical information of the great relic under the conservation planning.In the dissertation, through the methodology of studying—analyzing—resolving, on the plinth of Han City relic archeological research, and by the theory and design methods of space, the spaces relationships of the Great Han City relic was analyzed systematically;further the conservative recommends on the spaces levels of Han Chang An relic was mentioned according to the spaces relationships schema;then the great relic spaces were levelled;successively a set of planning and conservative advices were given to every space level and a positive study on the spaces control system also was improved.The dissertation was divided into six chapters: firstly, the question—the embarrassments and difficulties on conservation of Han City relic, was put forward in the preface, then previous Chinese and oversea theoretical and practical developments on the space andenvironment conservation in great relic were introduced in the second chapter. Successively, in the third chapter, the concept of "space" was clarified, and basing on it, "the space relationship"—a mode of relic space apperception was mentioned. In the fourth chapter, what was highlighted detailedly is the current archeological research situation.Then through the preparative study in the third and fourth chapters, the fifth chapter focused on the concept of "space syntactic", which was adopted to study the attributes of the space environment of Han City, to constitute the schema of the relic space relationship. Further following the analysis on the important factors of the great relic basing on the space relationship schema, a relic space planning was put forward.On the foundation of the study about the attributes of space environment in the fifth chapter, the research on the historical features, interactive relationships and other related questions of Han City spaces were launched, which followed by a careful study on how to express the relic's deep structure integrally and truly by the relic spaces planning and control under the promise of great relic conservation. At last, according to the analysis thereinbefore, the spaces control system of the great relic was brought forward, then according to the control system, the recommends that pointed out the necessity of combining the conservation and development together was highlighted.
