Central air-conditioning system is designed to satisfy the maximum load of building, but in most of time, it works under part-load condition. To insure the stability and reliability of its operation and to satisfy the demand of indoor comfort and environment of occupants, the control system is also designed for central air-conditioning system. It is of importance to control and to optimize the operation of AHU, which need a simulation to give precise date and order. In this paper, the mathematical models of every part of AHU are established in detail and based on which, a simulation software is programmed with Visual Basic and Fortran language. Based on plot theory, modulation characteristics of deferent air-conditioning systems are analyzed.At the same time, stability in the system is demanded and the faults detection and diagnosis system has received greater attention. In this paper, we propose a fault diagnosis system for AHU using an artificial neural network (ANN).
