Baishan Pumped Storage Station, a technical innovation engineering (refer to Baishan General layout plan), is based on existing buildings (i.e. Phase I powerhouse, Phase IIpowerhouse, substation, dam and etc.) and surrounded by high -voltage lines. At beginning, to protect running units, dam, substation and powerhouse from vibration, blasting dosage was controlled and it' s done only when units were shutdown. Total stonework excavated of Baishan Pumped Storage Station and defogging engineering is 8,900,000m~3 during Dec. 2002 and Apr. 2004. Faced with impact arrangement, large scale construction, short time limit and large excavation quantity of project, if blasting is only allowed when units halt, excavating speed will be hindered seriously.So limit on blasting which required units of Phase I and Phase II stopping must be lift. Before the limit was formally lift, blasting vibration test under running units was done to decide vibration standard, to get transient blasting dosage and confirm its safety and to make blasting dosage plan diagram in order to guide construction, which guarantees safety of construction and avoids failure of load rejection.
