Same had been deficiencied ., So , it was an important topic to appraise the dam's hidden danger accurately and promptly, and to adopt the reinforcement measure. But it needed us to handle the conditions of dam's stress an displacement.This paper revolved the study of the stress an displacement of multi-arch dam , instroduced the modern computational method of calulation of the stress and displacement of multi-arch dam . Also , it researched static and dynamic response of multi-arch dam detailedly . The static and dynamic response of Ping Qiao multi-arch dam was researched using the large commercial software ANSYS . The main contents of this topic are as follows:1. The finite element method in multi-arch dam was researched . regarding the whole multi-arch dam and foundation as an integral body . The static and dynamic analysis of the structure was made, and compare the advantages and disadvantages of method, also the applicable situation.2. Analysis of stress of multi-arch dam was made using the method of structural mechanics.3. response spectrum method in multi-arch dam calculation was researched .4. The structure of dam and foundation of Ping qiao multi-arch dam was analyzed in terms of 3-dimentional finite element static analysis and kinetic reaction analysis by ANSYS software. Static analysis was analogued by elasticity and ideally elastic-plasticity material,while kinetic analysis was carried out by the combination of modal analysis and kinetic reaction analysis hierarchical method. By analyzing and calculating the structure and stress distribution status under time of design water, check water and earthquake condition, and the structure self-oscillation character and dynamic response under the degree horizontal seismic were gained beside;And the safe appraisement of the whole structure and the right abamurus was done.
