The vortex pump is a kind of non-clogging pumps. It has been applied gradually in the city draining ,chemical engineering and the mineral mountain etc. But the theories of the vortex pump design aren't mature and the excellent water power model is less. The research of the vortex pump is main concentrated currently in experiment research and theories analysis. Through the experiment , it is got the structure parameter of the vortex pump how to influence the function of the vortex pump. According on the result ,the structure parameter of the vortex pump is to been revised.Along with the development of the calculator technique and the calculation fluid mechanics, there gets a quick development in the study of the inner flow of the hydraulic machine. It is becoming a hot flied. Using CFD to calculate the flow of pump, observing and analyzing interior flows ,will help us carry on the optimization design of some flowing parts of pump, estimate the performance of pump and improve the technological feature of construction of pump and the design method of pump.A scheme was used in this paper on the Renault time-average equation and standard k - ε turbulence model. The physics shape of vortex pump was made by Pro/E, a three-dimensional model software and the physics shape was meshed by unstructured grids. The governing equations were dealt with by means of finite volume scheme, first-order upwind scheme and made a discretization using SIMPLE algorithm. Moving reference frame(MRF) was dealt with the intervener of guide vanes and impellers.There was a simulation in the inner flow of vortex pump in this paper ,analyzing the influence of wall roughness and the performance of vortex pump in the different inlets of vortex pump ,different vanes and different chambers. The characteristic curves of vortex pump was made by the result of the simulation .The simulation was hoped to provide a reference in the design of vortex pump. From this, we can get the following conclusion:1.The influence of import of vortex pump is greatly. When the ratio of the diameter of import and the diameter of leaf is 0.45 or so, the performance of vortex pump is the best and the speed of import is just right.2.Calculating the flow field of bidirectional slop blade(R30F30),slope blade(R30) andstraight blade ,it is best to receive the blade performance of the R30, but the high-efficiency district is not so wide as R30F30 blade.3.Along with the increasing of pump chamber in the radial direction, the performance is poorer.It is high 5—10 percentage points at the head of vortex pump to compare the calculation and experiment ,high 5.2% under small flow operating condition and high more than 7.8% under large flow operating condition.
