Beam String Structure is one kind of self-balanced structure.lt is made of upper chords(compression struts),lower chords(tension struts)and brace struts, and through pulling the lower chords will product rigidity to support roof. BSS ,which has many merit such as simple stress, nice facade ,convenience construction etc ,had a fast speed of developing and a wide field to make use ,except for long-span roof,glass curtain wall and so on.Uuder the stronge wind-stress, a wind suction will happen on the long-span roof .when the wind-stress exceed one limitation ,the lower chords which is always made of steel rope will be inactive because of it's zero tension stress.that problem is one of shortcomings about BSS and at the present, we have some methods to deal with them ,but none is the stright one to solve it .In my thesis,a new type BSS which is called double-cable BSS,will be made out that can sovle the problem essentially.
