According to the fundamental principle of vehicle dynamics, this paper established a full car model of Active Suspension System (ASS) and Electric Power Steering System (EPS).Based on the full car model, a MPC (Model Predictive Control) controller was designed with predictive control theory, and the integrated control of Active Suspension System and Electric Power Steering System was achieved. It is necessary to simultaneously consider the choosing of the mechanical parameters and the design of control system in the process of vehicle design, so this paper carried out integrated control and optimization design based on the integrated dynamic model of Active Suspension System and Electric Power Steering System with genetic algorithm. The simulation results show that, the integrated controlled and optimized Active Suspension System and Electric Power Steering System could not only apparently improve ride performance and vehicle handiness, but effectively reduce the vibration caused by road inputs in order to get well vehicle maneuverability and ride comfort as well. The effectiveness of the controller used in Active Suspension System and Electric Power Steering System was proved by the actual vehicle road test.
