The Study Of Reactive Power Compensation In Rural Power Distribution Network

The loss of lOkv rural power distribution network is very big, and its terminal voltage is low. So it is important to optimize reactive power in rural power distribution network. Because of the peculiarities of rural power distribution network, it is necessary to find a method which is different from the method in city distribution systems, in order to reduce power loss by reactive compensation in rural power distribution network.The paper introduces a method of the reactive compensation which is fit for radiate distribution systems.Its objection is enegy loss reduction. The paper makes a comparition between three methods of reactive power compensation: reactive power compensation in 380v side of the transformer, reactive power compensation in 380v side of the transformer of which the rated capacity is more than 100kva, reactive power compensation in 380v side of the transformer of which the rated capacity is more than lOOkva adding the reactive power compensation on 10kv pole.
