As an important aspect of living environment, daylight environment has adirect influence to people's psychological and physiological health. At alltimes and in all over the world, in order to create a harmonious and fantasticbuilding light environment, the architects are seeking all kinds of buildingforms. With the development of building technologies, glass curtain wallappears. And for its vivid and esthetic characters, it was accepted by thedesigners and was greatly developed by many architecture masters. But duringthe using course, some disadvantages of the glass curtain walls appear. Solarradiation penetrates into the room through large area glasses, which worsenthe indoor thermal environment and light environment. On the other hand, specular glasses reflect a great deal of radiation heat into the environment, which brings heat pollution and light pollution to the environment.Based on the daylight environment and glass curtain wall buildingfeatures, this essay makes a systemic study on the indoor and outdoor daylightenvironment of the glass curtain wall buildings. The essay also uses computersimulation tools to simulate the indoor and outdoor daylight environment, andbrings out some evaluating indicators, which help the designers has quantitycognition on his project and can provide a way to avoid the harm to theenvironment and the waste of energy. This essay includes six chapters, the first chapter introduces the daylightenvironment and the meaning of utilization of daylight. The second chapterintroduces the characters of glass curtain walls. The third chapter goes along astudy on the daylight glare inside the glass curtain wall buildings. The fourthchapter goes along a systemic study on the reflection glare from glass curtainwalls and introduces design and development of the reflection glarecalculation module. The fifth chapter uses some building simulation tools tocalculate and evaluate the heat pollution and light pollution. The sixth chaptersummarizes and prospects.
