The numerical simulation can be appropriately divided into modeling at the electrodelevel (micro modeling), the cell level and the stack level (micro modeling).Micro modelingaims at building better electrodes through study of microscopic process. However, macromodeling aims at optimizing design alternatives and determining operational strategies, provided that the electrochemical performance of the given electrodes and electrolytes areknown. In this paper, macro modeling of SOFC is discussed and analyzed. At first the Finite-Rate Chemistry model is found based on thermodynamics andelectrode kinetics of SOFC, followed that the electrochemistry parameters are solved throughanalyzing the mass transport, heat transfer and the relationships among temperature, voltageand concentration of gases as the conditions known. Moreover, the correlative programs aredesigned. When the working conditions are changed, it is capable of analyzing theperformance of SOFC directly. The two monomer structures which are plan and tube aresimulated numerically and calculated. The result can support optimal design and operation offuel cells on theory.
