Abstract/Summary:
In power market, Available Transfer Capability (abr. ATC) is one of the keyparameters for the network security and market efficiency. In allusion to thedifficulties of its calculation, the paper analyses the essence of ATC and the defectsof existing solution methods. And a new improved particle swarm optimization (abr.PSO) model is established. In this paper, the author proposes a view of 'coarsesearch' and 'fine search' by studying the search characteristics of PSO, alsoconcludes an automatically adaptive adjustment strategy of inertia-weighted value,which elevates the applicability of PSO and accelerates its convergence.Furthermore, an improved dissipative operation is constructed with the theory ofdissipation, which effectively overcomes the shortcoming of earliness. At last, acase study of IEEE 30-bus test system demonstrates the validity and reliability ofthis approach.
