The objective of reactive optimization is to make layout anddistribution capacity of the reactive compensation equipments the mostreasonable and grid loss lowest during the reactive operation.Optimization compensations of reactive power balance and reactiveoperation are completed carefully while implementing active power planand construction. Therefore reactive optimization has importantsignificance in aspect of planning new system, retrofitting reactivedistribution of existing system and instructing operation of reactiveequipment of existing system. This paper offers concrete suggestionsabout reactive optimization after special research on reactiveoptimization of Inner Mongolia Mengxi electric power grid andcombination of actual condition of the grid. This item has the importantsense for setting up reactive control system of the whole Mengxi powergrid and for safe, reliable and economic operation of Mengxi power grid.
