With the rapid development of our national hydropower project, those dams wehave constructed have the characteristic of great flow rate, great total flooddischarging power, great discharge per unit width and narrow valley, this is so called"Three Great One Narrow". The discharge flow field is very complicated. In thispaper, with the help of the numerical simulation technology, the following work isdone by closely contacting the engineering project.1. In this paper the mathematical model of flood discharging construction is setup including reservoir, orifice flow and plunge pool. Discharge flow field is simulated.The velocity field, pressure distribution and the negative pressure region on spillwayface are obtained. In addition, the nappe parameters in air are also studied, and themodeled value is compared with the calculated data by experiential formula. Lastlythe plunge pool turbulence flow field is modeled, the time-average pressuredistribution is gained.2.Based on the Xiangjiaba Dam hydraulic project, the mathematical model isset up and the stilling basin flow field is analyzed. The calculated velocity field andpressure distribution are in good agreement with the available experimental data.3.When water speeds, air will intermingle water, and then the water-air twophase flow is being. In hydraulic engineering, such kind of multiphase flow iscommon. Taking the hydraulic model test of the sudden enlargement and suddendrawdown as an example, high-speed water flow is simulated. The velocity field, slabpressure distribution, side cavum length and underneath cavum length are achieved.Calculation results have been verified by the experimental data.4.Applying the mathematical model established, the research on the dischargeflow field of Baihetan Arch Dam is carried out for offering some valuable reference toproject design.
