Rock and soil mechanics engineering is a application knowledge with profoundrationale but potent practice. There are many substantial productions both in study andpractice currently. However, few literature can be found with respect to rheologicproblem of rock and soil medium in spite of its recognized importance, especially inits system study. In underground engineering especially in metro tunnel engineering, rheologic theory has not been spreadly used. The time-dependent behaviour ofsurrounding rock and lining structure under excavation has not been studied carefully. In this paper, a nonlinear viscoelasto-plastic finite element model was used tosimulate the excavation process of metro tunnel in Shenzhen. The effect of advancingface was simulated by 3-D finite element method. The utilizing of "virtual supportingforce"make it possible to simulate the excavation process dynamicly. The singletunnel and nearby double tunnel were studied with rheologic theory. Base on thestudy of the time-dependent behaviour of the interaction between surrounding rockand lining structure, the main stress of surrounding rock, surface settlement, archsettlememt, plastic zone in surrounding rock and internal force of lining structurewere obtained. Some problem in the excavation process of the tunnel were explainedproperly and some useful conclusion was drawn in this paper. |
