Abstract/Summary:
Based on heat conduction theory and present research in temperature field, regular concrete shell structure and an irregular concrete shell structure are analyzed to reveal the distribution of temperature stresses in concrete shells. The main topics covered in this thesis are as follows:1. The theory of temperature field and temperature effect have been introduced and the related theory of shrinkage and creep influencing the temperature stress of concrete shell are presented;2. By means of the engineering general-purpose simulation tool, ANSYS, the temperature effect of a regular spheric shell structure in service has been simulated subjected to different temperature modes, and its respective temperature stresses and deformation have been especially compared with each other. The temperature effect of an regular spheric shell structure with different geometric parameters, such as radium, thickness and height of the shell, in order to get the design method for irregular shell structure;3. Extending from the thermal analysis in topic 2, temperature stresses and deformation of an irregular concrete spheric shell structure have also been investigated. In comparison with the previous regular spheric shell structure subjected to equivalent temperature modes, some general conclusions about the temperature effect and the corresponding simplified treatments of irregular concrete shell structures have been provided for engineers and designers.In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
