Because the settlement controlled composite pile (SCCP) foundation can fully utilize the bearing of piles and characteristic of settlement controlling, this kind of foundation can reduce the amount of piles and the infection to surroundings. These strong points can make the design more economical and safer. Thus, this method has been widely used in soft soil areas.Based on the load transfer method, the stress between the pile and the soil is assumed to be a function of the relative displacement. The model is called generalized load transfer method in this paper, which can take the plastic behavior of the soil around the pile into account, and also can analyze the pile group.This article analyzed the characteristic of the bearing on SCCP, and made analysis of settlement using theories that have been proved to be true. At the mean time, the foundation's character as an integer was systematically analyzed from an angle of pile-soil-cap working together. This analysis takes on certain significance for the engineering practices.For validating the feasibility of methods argued in this article, a certain project was calculated by this means. From generally speaking, the calculating results well coincided with monitoring datum, especially the settlements.
