As have been shown by a series of violent earthquakes, it is very necessary to analyse the elastoplasticity of the bridge subjected to strong earthquake ground movements. The bridge is the pivot engineering of communications and transportation system, and is the important component of lifeline engineering. And it is taking more and more important effect in modernized social life and work. The destruction of bridge will lead to traffic interrupt in earthquake, not only this can influence normal life of people and the operating of economy and create serious economic loss, but also will influence relief of disaster work after the shake, and make personnel can not evacuate smoothly and safely, and hinder to carry rescuer and goods and materials of the relief of disaster to the disaster area, thus the earthquake calamity is aggravated. Therefore researches of this paper possess the important theory value and practical meaning for taking measures in design to strengthen seismic capability of bridge as to pledge that bridge is in safty and normal use. This paper discusses the elastoplastic responses of a beam bridge combined with an example, based on a large number of documents and papers about elastoplastic response analysis. The main contents and conclusions are as follows.(1) Elastoplastic analysis steps of beam bridge and model selections of structure and elements are elaborated in detail.(2) Method to get M-φ curve of structure members through program, adopting numerical computation is economical and efficient, compared with that through experiment, having practical value, based on the suppositions of state of structure members section after deformation and stress-strain of reinforcing steel and concrete.(3) Elastic and plastic programs used to beam bridge are made in Fortran, a scientific language.
