Research On The Application Of Underfloor Air Distribution In Office Buildings

As a new technology in HVAC field, Underfloor Air Distribution System(UFAD) has its good performance like, flexibility, adaptability, economic benefits, energy saving, better comfort level and IAQ. For these advantages, more and more foregin buildings have adopt UFAD as their HVACs. In recent years, many scholars and engineers had done the research in UFADs, and given the relative theory and from built UFAD cases study, they draw the basic conlution for UFADs. In China, the application of UFADs just on the beginning stage, has little UFAD case, most designers and engineers are not familiar with it, scarce the guidance. So in this dissertation, the author take the UFAD application in office space as the core issue, study and research the UFAD system forms, design method, and problems occurred in application.Through the investigation of the built UFAD case and experiment, CFD simulation, occupants survey, analysis of energy consumption and cost, draw the conclusion of UFAD system. Considering situation of China, give more practical guideline for UFAD system design in Chinese commercial office buildings.
