| The successful implementation of demand side management (DSM) in developedcountries reveals that DSM not only has great economic benefit but also can heighten thereliability level of power system. The paper analyses the DSM impact on load curve first andraises the viewpoint that it should consider the transmission restrictions in studying the impactof DSM on the system reliability. In this paper, it mainly makes qualitative and quantitativeanalysis to the benefit impact of DSM on composite generation and transmission system, which also takes account of the influence of the geographical differences of DSMimplementation in the grid. The study hopes to provide a reference to DSM programming andguide how to actualize DSM in phase and properly. At the end, it discusses the feasibility andeconomic potential of introducing DSM into congestion management from the point of viewthat it should exert DSM's great effect in Market environment forwardly since it can alleviatethe transmission pressure and to improve system adequacy level. |
