As enterprise's informatization process stepping further, compositive application integration covering data integration, functionality integration and workflow integration becomes more and more urgent. Efficiency, timelessness and convenience become key factors to evaluate an application integration technique. Therefore, traditional end-to-end integration mode is not qualified for fulfilling these new requirements since it has many limitations, such as functionality singularity, non-framework infrastructure and weak expansibility. Theoretically speaking, integration platform technique is capable of solving the problem. But there is no practical product at present. With research around integration platform, this thesis present a multi-layer structural integration mode and framework which is agent based and message oriented. A practical integration platform is implemented which is a whole solution for graphics interface integration, functionality integration and workflow integration. Using the platform, it will reduce difficulty and risk of information systems' integration, reduce integration time and enhance integration scope and depth. Consequently, improve enterprise's operating efficiency. Program language heterogeneity problem, remote function integration and multi-layer integration are several unsolved problems in application integration. Solutions for these problems are presented in this thesis and used in integration platform. To shorten integrating time and increase integration efficiency, applications should be connected to platform in coincident methods. Agent technology is used to reach the goal. In order to make integration platform extensible enough to fulfill future new integration requirements, a "plug and play" infrastructure is designed and implemented. It support programming interface to extend the platform's integration ability. In the end of the thesis, two integration examples based on the platform, PDM/CAx tightness integration and KMCAPP/BOM collaboration, are introduced to verify platform's feasibility and usability.
