The increasingly market competition make it as one of most challenging factors to development a product and enhance product combination properties.Hydraulic excavator is a complex electromechanical product and because it will take the long period and high cost to developing a new product, the product is aging seriously and lacking market competition. Now above 80% production is occupied by foreign enterprise. How to improve design level and combination property has become the key technique urgently for us to solve. The gradual development of virtual prototype technology is providing us with the tools and means to solve these problems. Set out from the analysis of the characteristics and superiority of virtual prototype technology and aiming at the design deficiency of hydraulic excavator, in this paper, author applied virtual prototype technology in the design realm of excavator and discus the key energy saving technique of hydraulic excavator. Main contents of this thesis are listed as following:1. Based on the introduction of the basic theories frame of the virtual prototype technology and looking back the present research status andDevelopment trend of domestic and internationally countries in these realm, we reasoned the necessity, possibility and strategy of putting virtual prototype technology into the design of hydraulic excavator.2. Aiming at the whole system of hydraulic excavator and in virtue of the instruction of virtual prototype technology principal, we have propose the implementation strategy of designing virtual prototype machine of hydraulic excavator. It is to say that we put hydraulic excavator into single course systems and models that is connected each other and set up molds on differently support software respectively. Then make use of the network and system integration techniques to integrate models of each subsystem into virtual prototype machine of hydraulic pressure grab.3. According to the system modeling principle, this paper primarily studied the system modeling methods of hydraulic excavator system and discussed the methods using software Matlab and Simulink toolboxes to set up the parameterize and modularize system prototype modeling of hydraulic pressure grab.4. In the paper, we brought up the strategy and methods that set up the integrated son system model in Simulink through ADAMS/Control interface and realized machine, electricity and liquid integral prototype of virtual prototype machine environment. Moreover, we discussed the application prospect and development trend of hydraulic excavator.5. The meaning of energy saving to grab is not only in saving the fuel, but also it can lower the system heat radiation and work intensity. So it will be beneficial to circulation and maintenance the equipments. This paper briefly introduces energy saving technology what is prevailing in domestic and international counties and analysis particularly the economize on energy effect of the negative flow control system based on six-way multi path valve. Then we set up the corresponding control model, process the computer simulation and proved the correctness of the model on the experiment model machine developed by us. Based on thesewe bring up this design principle of energy saving.
