Traffic Transport is the life vein of national economy. The research field of ITS(Intellegent Transport System) is to adopt all kinds of information and intelligent techiques in order to bring modern transport into operation, so that to provide the services for all the participators of transport. Because of the rapid development of vehicle and road, ITS comes into the researchers' of all the worlds attention in recent years.This paper choices the vehicle tracking of ITS as the object of research and associates the advanced informantion fusion, discusses the techique of the vehicle tracking.At first, this paper introduces some knowledeg of ITS. And then, this paper gives the brief introductions form the following aspects: the concepts, principle, key technologies and the applications in ITS field, especially provides the application in vehicle tracking.In the Third chapter, the emphasises of discuess is the information fusion in the ITS. Based on the analysis of information characteristic, distinguishingly discuss desicionmaking information and target information fusion. Especially operate against the target information fusion, considering the real situation of distributed hybrid multi-source information fusion system, and the experimentation show that the system has famouse capahilityof signal deposal, resisting the environmental distributed and fault-tolerance.In the Fouth and Fifth chapter, the research and discuss operates against the specific problem - vehicle tracking, invests the technique of information fusion, provides two algrithms, one is based on Kalman filter, and the other is based the information fusion of different kind sensors. At the end of the two parts, the resultsof experimentation are provides.As the end of this paper, we provides the summary and perspective for the next work of vehicle tracking.
