The relay protector is an extremely important installation to the stability of the operation of the whole electric power system as well as the protected electric facilities. Among all the components of the system, the transmit electricity is used to connect all generators, thus transport the electric power. Transmit electricity distributes in mountainous areas, fields and also under earth, crisscrossing as an intricate net. Compared with other electric facilities, the transmit electricity is much more probable to go wrong because of being lightning stricken or some other accidents. Therefore, the relay protector is with more significance for it. The traditional circuit protector is rather simple in its hardware resources and functions, slow-speed in its operation, and the short lead wire differential protector would have a negative impact on the operating characteristic and security of the differential protector. Thus, it is rather difficult to meet the present high requirement on speediness and real-time to the protector. This paper, aiming at the above problems and integrating with practical scientific research subjects, worked over and developed a microcomputer line protection based on optical fiber communications and DSP chip.This paper firstly gives an account of the development and existing problems of the circuit computer protector, and integrating with present situation of power fiber network, made an emphasized analysis and research on the shortages of present current differential protect communication at home, and there out made a conclusion on the significance of the application of the optical fiber communications to microcomputer line protector; Secondly, the author had a deep study on several key problems to the circuit protect theory (including current relay, three segment current protect, three phase re-close with detecting no voltage, frequency relay), and laid theoretic foundations for material design and its realization on line protector. Then, aiming at the problem of data transmission and synchronization of fiber differential protector, and making a compared discuss to several present proposals of different factories, a new echelon arithmetic was advanced on the basis of it. Furthermore, the paper made an analysis on the errors caused by this echelon arithmetic and put forward remedies. In conclusion, the author successfully applied above research achievements to, based upon optical fiber communications and DSP chip, designing a microcomputer line protector, completing hardware detail designing, as well as protection and communication module developing, which adopts the DSP56F807 CMOS chip manufactured by Motorola Inc. to realize the functions of current relay, frequency relay, and three phase re-close with detecting no voltage, etc. The communications between protector and its superior monitoring system adopt LONWORKS bus, so as to ensure and promote the high reliability, security and mutual operation of the data transmission.The dynamic simulate testing result of the protector developed in this paper indicated this line protection device is with high reliability, exactness, measure precision, and processes high anti-jamming capacity. Meanwhile, the research achievements of this paper also proved to be high in validity and applying value.
