With the development of our country, the process of urbanize is faster and faster, and the conflict of the rare of land source is standing out day by day. As the exploitation of underground space and the construction of high-rise in urban, a large number of deep foundation excavations have appeared lately. Its scale and depth increase constantly. Urban deep foundation excavations are generally surrounded with dense buildings. So their working space is very narrow, especially when they are close to the foundations of adjacent buildings or structures. Applying the traditional design theory and routine construction technology, there is an inevitable difficulty about protecting surrounding buildings or structures in construction. Many scholars, engineers and technicians have already worked a lot in the displacement-controlling design of deep foundation excavations recent years, however, difficulty remains to be solved in correlation among the deformation of the retaining structures, soil deformation around the excavations and the displacements of adjacent structures. Deep foundation excavations, retaining systems and adjacent structures are studied as an integrated system in this paper. The construction process of the typical deep foundation excavation which is under the typical geological conditions of Beijing area is simulated and analyzed with the aid of flac3D 2.0. Underground series wall is chosen as the retaining system. Numerical simulation is carried out with the changing of the stiffness of the wall, the number of layers of the anchor cables and the horizontal distance between the anchor cables, to better understand the effect to the adjacent building, including the horizontal displacement of the wall, the settlement around the foundation, the horizontal displacement, the leaning and the settlement of the building. Eventually, the Author put forward a optional designing method of the horizontal distance of the anchor cables by means of technical and economical evaluate.
